The Renaissance Nude

Published on March 15, 2019

This exhibition traces the development of the nude through some of the great masters of the Renaissance. Bringing together works by artists such as Titian, Raphael, Michelangelo, Leonardo, Dürer and Cranach, the Royal Academy of Arts will explore the changes in the art of this time period in a selection of exquisite works. From full-scale paintings to jewel-like illustrations, bronze statuettes to anatomical studies, they contrast idealised beauty with the ageing body, and public images with more intimate, private works.

The exhibition runs from 3/3 - 6/2/19 at the Royal Academy of Arts, Picadilly, London, W1J 0BD, UK.
