Da Vinci Painting Discovered

A painting by Leonardo da Vinci that was lost for centuries has been authenticated by distinguished scholars and conservators at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the National Gallery in London. The painting, Salvator Mundi, or "Savior of the World," depicts a popularized Netherlandish suject of Christ with his right hand raised in blessing and his left hand holding a globe. The painting will be on view at The National Gallery, in a show titled Leonardo Da Vinci: A Painter at the Court of Milan Nov 9 2011 - Feb 5 2012. Click here to read the full article. |
