He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the New York Academy of Art.\u003Cbr /\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003E Subsequently, he worked as a painter for Jeff Koons, and as studio assistant to Odd Nerdrum in Norway and Paris. His work is held in private and public collections, notably the New Britain Museum of American Art, European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) in Barcelona, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sicily (MACS), and the British Arts Minister Alan Howarth. Richard\u0027s paintings have exhibited across Europe and North America, notably The National Arts Club, Le Grand Palais in Paris, and Palazzo Cini in Venice. In addition to having given lectures and workshops at The Representational Art Conference, Laguna College of Art and Design, and the Lyme Academy, Richard is the founder of the Berkshire Painting Residency.\u003Cbr /\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003ERichard is the recipient of a grant from the Martha Boschen Porter Fund, winner of the Saatchi Showdown 2011, and in 2012 was selected as one of \u002225 Artists of Tomorrow\u0022 by American Artist Magazine.
