Patricia Watwood

{"Id":1392,"Name":"Patricia Watwood","Biography":"\u003Cp\u003EPatricia Watwood is the youngest of seven children, raised in St. Louis, Missouri. In College, she majored in Scenic Design at Trinity University, in San Antonio Texas. She has done design work in regional theatre in San Antonio, St. Louis, Seattle, and Boulder, Co. While working in Seattle in 1994, she began studying at The Academy of Realist Art, which marks the beginning of her studies in traditional painting, and a new direction in her career.\u003Cbr /\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003EIn 1996, Patricia and her husband, Duncan, moved to New York City for Patricia to pursue her training. She began studying with Jacob Collins at his Brooklyn brownstone. With ten other students, she moved to the Water Street Atelier, when it started in April of 1997. Also in the Fall of 1996, she entered the masters program at the New York Academy Graduate School of Figurative Art, which she completed in 1999.\u003Cbr /\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003EIn 1998, Patricia and Duncan took a leave of absence from New York, and went to the Loire Valley, France for eight months. There, Patricia studied with the American artist Ted Seth Jacobs, who runs an atelier in Les Cerqueux sous Passavant.\u003Cbr /\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003EPatricia has been an instructor at the Water Street Atelier in DUMBO, Brooklyn, since 2000. She has been exhibiting in group and solo shows in New York, Paris, Houston, San Francisco and Long Island. Her work is represented by Hirschl \u0026amp; Adler Galleries, NY; Meredith Long \u0026amp; Co., Houston; John Pence Gallery in San Francisco; and by The Grenning Gallery in Sag Harbor, NY. Patricia and Duncan have just had their first child, Sophia Belle.
