An interesting play on perspective, the figure seems to be jumping through a modernist painting into reality. The red sweep through the middle of the composition transforms into fabric as the figure moves through it, reminiscent of crossing though a finish line at the end of a race. The figure's contemporary look, hair and adornments, breaking through the abstract elements, can be interpreted as a symbolic breaking through of the 20th century modernist paradigm to a future dominated by realism in the 21st century.
